Come along for some stitching & knitting???
Why not take some time out from Christmas shopping and sew for an hour or two? I'm going to turn this wee bundle I got in the PDSA shop into a cross stitch card of Puffins.
And I believe Ashley from MIG is going to join us and start the Sarah Lund jumper Radio Times kindly supplied the pattern for (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Make-It-Glasgow/135204339846285?ref=ts).
Hope to see you there.

A finished project
I won't be there next Saturday (5th November) as I'm off on my travels but don't let that stop you popping in with your stitching project & say hello to Ashley.

More Shewin n Bletherin this Saturday
A few folk came in after 1.30pm and I hope they'll be able to join us tomorrow from 11am.
Think I'll be bringing Hello Kitty & hopefully finish it.

Saturday 8 October 2011
Not sure if I'll be doing embroidery this week or hand stitching some phone cases...you'll just have to coming along and see.
I heard that last week someone came along who hand makes toys. Hope she pops back tomorrow as I'd love to see her work.
Hope you can make it too.
Shewin this Saturday
However don't let that stop you popping in for a cuppa with your hand stitching project.
Normal service will resume next Saturday.

Thank you
With the added attraction of Helen and Gil from the Royal School of Needlework - their work has to be seen to be believed it's amazing! We had a steady stream of people in from 10am and they had travelled from Edinburgh, Newton Stewart, Glasgow and even Skye!
There was a wee bit of Shewin going on but mostly it was blethering.
Next week: I'm going to be finishing off the silk shading piece I will have started on the RSN day class the day before. http://www.royal-needlework.org.uk/content/1113
What piece will you bring to work on?
So what is Shewin n Blethering?
Shewing is the old Scots word for sewing or needlework while to blether is Scots for chatting. Put them together and you get a bunch of people all hand sewing their own projects together over a cup of tea or coffee. Or to put it another way shewin n bletherin.
Our first meet up will be on Saturday 17th September at 10am and we will be based at Make It Glasgow, 3 Osborne Street, Glasgow. Normally we will meet at 11am but this is a special morning and you can read more about it here: http://craftyfrayededges.wordpress.com/2011/09/11/are-you-ready-for-shewin-n-bletherin.
We will be a very inclusive group so whether you're embroider, quilt, make lace or are hand sewing an outfit come along. It would be lovely to see you every Saturday but if you can only make it one or twice a month that's cool.
Count down to our first meeting
Here is a sneak preview & watch out for more announcements this week...
